Another blow to the establishment GOP!
Conservative challenger Brandon Williams won the GOP primary last night in the new New York 22nd Congressional District.
Williams defeated the GOP establishment candidate Steve Wells by 16 points in the race to replace Trump-hating RINO John Katko.

Political novice Brandon Williams pulled off a stunning upset over Steve Wells on Tuesday in the Republican primary election in the new 22nd Congressional District.
“Rest assured that your vote today marks only the beginning of the change that’s coming to America,” Williams said in a victory speech to about 30 supporters at the Nothin’ Fancy Cafe in Vernon. “We’re going to get this ship pointed in the right direction. Our nation is under attack by the radical left.”
Williams was about to declare victory with 85% of the vote counted. Williams had 58% of the vote; Wells had 42%, according to unofficial returns from the state Board of Elections.
“I’d like to thank the voters of Central New York,’’ Williams said in his victory speech. “I’m extremely humbled to have your faith. I have shaken hundreds, maybe thousands of hands. I have looked into the eyes of voters and seen the concern…but also the desperate love for our country.”
At 10:26 p.m., Wells issued a news release congratulating Williams on his victory.
The defeat of Wells, 59, of Cazenovia, by a challenger from the party’s right wing is a blow to the Central New York and national Republican establishment who had lined up behind him.
